Nepal Telecommunication Authority is preparing to change its SMS and Mobile system including the change in all Landline Numbers. The Authority claimed that the Communication service of Nepal is being forwarded as per the International Standard of Telecommunication. According to the Authority Spokesman Min Prasad Aryal, studies are going on about to change the SMS, Mobile Service and Landline Numbers.
Currently Landline number in Kathmandu Valley contains 7 digits and 6 outside the valley. After the implementation of this change, all the landline number will be Ten-Digit number.
Aryal said that currently the Landline number changing process is ongoing. He added, before changing the landline number there will be the change in SMS and Mobile system.
There will be change in Mobile Service Code but the Ten-digit mobile number will remain the same.
Mobile Operator Companies can supply more numbers after the full implementation of this change.
There are 6 Mobile Operators in Nepal including NTC and NCELL, UTL, Smart, Hello Nepal and CG Telecom.
The Authority is also preparing to allow the Internet Provider Companies to operate the Telecommunication service as well.
