If someone from a family had a seriously illness, most of us may have to struggle hard to get a treatment. Further, treatment of some diseases use to be out of our capacity.
If you are poor but facing a serious illness, it will be better to consult with your doctor so that there may be some economic help provided by government sector.
Government of Nepal is providing economic help for those people who can not afford treatment of 8 kinds of diseases. But various study shows that only few people know about this facility.
Diseases included in government support are kidney dialysis, kidney transplant, treatment after transplant, heart disease, cancer, head and spinal injuries, Alzheimer’s / Parkinson’s disease and anemia. Five Hundred Twenty Thousand Rupees is provided for Kidney Dialysis within two years at the rate of Two thousand Five Hundred per dialysis. Similarly, Two Hundred Thousand is provided for Kidney Transplant and One Hundred Thousand for the medicines required after the transplantation of kidney. Maximum up to One Hundred Thousand is provided for the treatment of Heart Disease, cancer, head and spinal injuries, Alzheimer’s/Parkinson Disease and Anemia.
People can get this support even if the treatment is not possible in Nepal or need to go abroad.
It is your right to get the support provided by the government if you are a poor citizen and have no money for the treatment.
